Car Transport Cost in India: What Actually Decides Your Price
Most people asking about car transport want one number. In practice, a carrier operator builds the price from a handful of specific inputs. Once you know what they are, quotations stop feeling random.
1. Distance and direction
Distance is the base, but direction matters just as much. A carrier that empties out in a city needs a return load. If loads are scarce in one direction, the rate in that direction is higher — which is why Delhi to Bangalore and Bangalore to Delhi are rarely identical.
2. The size of your car
A carrier sells space, not weight. A hatchback occupies less deck length than an SUV, so it costs less on the same route. Very long or tall vehicles sometimes take a slot that could otherwise hold two smaller cars.
3. Carrier type
Open carriers are the normal choice for everyday cars and are the most cost-effective. Enclosed movement, where available on the route, costs more and is usually chosen for premium or low-clearance cars.
4. Pickup and delivery access
If a large carrier can reach both ends, the movement is simple. If it cannot — narrow streets, basement parking, restricted society entry or city truck-entry timings — an additional short movement is needed at one or both ends, and that is priced in.
5. Season and demand
Relocation seasons, festival periods and month-ends push demand up. Booking a few days earlier usually gives you a better pickup window and a steadier rate.
What we do not do
We do not publish fixed price tables. A quotation that ignores your route, car and access conditions is not a real quotation. Send your pickup city, delivery city and car model and we will price your actual movement.
